Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) Extension – The Vine, Sevenoaks |
||
|
Sevenoaks District Council is inviting local residents and visitors to share their views on extending the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) currently in place at The Vine, Sevenoaks. The PSPO was introduced in December 2023 to help tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB), working in partnership with Kent Police and Sevenoaks Town Council. Since its introduction, there has been a noticeable reduction in ASB in the area. What is a PSPO?A Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) is a legal measure that gives police officers and council staff additional powers to address specific anti-social behaviours in a defined area. These powers can include issuing warnings or fixed penalty notices to individuals who engage in behaviour that negatively affects the community. PSPOs are enforced under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. Why your views matterBefore any decision can be made about extending the PSPO, a public consultation must take place. Your feedback is important and will help shape the decision on whether the order should remain in place. Key datesIf approved, the PSPO could be extended for a further three years, until December 2029.
